Katahum Tours: Manggad kang Antique
Stopover 1: Miag-ao Church
UNESCO World Heritage Site (1993)
“Baroque Churches of the Philippines”
In the southern part of Iloilo Province majestically stands the Miag-ao Church. Known as the Queen of all the churches in Iloilo not only for its beautiful facade but for the church’s over-all imposing structure.
It is the only World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO outside of Luzon.
The church can be reached by an hour of driving from Iloilo City or by riding Miag-ao or San Joaquin jeepneys at the Terminal Market or at the Iloilo Supermart at Molo Plaza. Tourists can go church hopping from the famous ones in Iloilo City such as the Jaro Cathedral and Molo Church to the south of Iloilo province such as Tigbauan, Guimbal, Miag-ao and San Joaquin churches.
Before exploring the Province of Antique, Katahum Tours won’t let you just pass by this magnificent church in Iloilo. Visit Katahum.com to know more about the tour.
