“Dumaguete is simply the place to be”

Dumaguete City, the capital of Negros Occidental is simply the place that I have been wanting to visit.
It’s City Tourism office has come up with a new slogan to further boost its tourism – “Dumaguete is simply the place to be.”
For me, “Dumaguete-the place to be” is already fine, but the term “simply” suggests what most of the people of the city are- simple. As an Ilonggo, this was never a hindrance to connect with any Dumagueteño since both localities are known to be of such trait. We just have to pass by the high altitude to visit each others’ places.

Despite this, “the City of Gentle People” and the province has an endless list of so many things to do and places to visit like natural wonders to discover, water sports to try, treasures of the past to embrace, cafes and restaurants to try- of course, FOOD to eat, having an epic love story and the thrill of just getting into this city is a wonderful experience.

Dumaguete is indeed one of the most interesting cities to visit within our country. Not only because we Ilonggos have a lot of similar traits with the Dumagueteños, but by getting into another region by means of a 45-minute fastcraft ride to Bacolod City and the SHORT 6 to 7-hour bus ride with so many beautiful sights to see and having to explore a lot of things at Dumaguete is an ultimate adventure.
It still remains to be on the list as one of the cities of my dreams.
