5 things to do this Valentines in Iloilo City

The most romantic time of the year is once again approaching. By this time, I guess majority of the lovers in this city have already something in mind for the Valentine’s on the 14th. Touted as the “City of Love”, Iloilo City actually has a lot to offer not just for couples, but as well as for those who want to celebrate the occasion simply with their families or friends. Yes, single individuals too have the right to celebrate without the need of using the #bitter hashtag.
Here are some of my suggestions for everyone this Valentine’s:
1.  ESCAPE WITH YOUR LOVE
If you want to spend longer time making lasting mem’ries with your partner, go ahead and book that ultimate “Sweet Escape” at Days Hotel Iloilo. Indulge every moment at the heart of the city without having the need to travel. Their package already includes a room accommodation, buffet meals and a glass of wine. The hotel also has a gym, spa and a mall with supermarket downstairs.
2. GIVE SOMETHING LOVELY OR SWEET
For those who do not look forward to in celebrating the Valentine’s, you can actually buy something for your friends or family back home such as a box of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (SM City Iloilo) just to show appreciation and love as a friend or a member of the family who cares. Flowers, jewelries and other gifts can also symbolize one’s willingness to renew personal commitment of love or even vow.
3. HAVE SOMETHING PERSONALIZED
You are probably one of the best persons to know what your partner likes and his/her hobbies. If it is photography, why not get some of his favorite photos (and your photos too!) printed on a sintra board, glass or clear acrylic for a wall decoration or memorabilia at Outdoormaster (Diversion Road). They can also print, cut or engrave on several materials including wood.
3. WATCH A MOVIE
50 Shades of Grey is now showing. Plus, DVD marathons at home or somewhere can also be a fun date too. Don’t forget the chips and some wine! Watch The Interview if you’re in the mood for comedy or Into the woods for more laughs and some singing.
4. PAMPER YOUR SENSES
One of the best spas in Iloilo City of course is SPA RIVIERA. Go and treat your partner to a relaxing massage together. They also offer manicure and pedicure.
5. GO ON A ROADTRIP OR DINE OUT
Most couples or groups would usually dine out because there are plenty of restaurant choices to choose from in Iloilo. A lot of them offer Valentine’s promo too. Just Make sure to make a reservation earlier. I find The Mango Tree in Guzman st., Mandurriao really romantic. Sheridan Botique, Damires Hills and Bearland resorts are also worth the drive for dining and overnight stay. Urban Sands Resort in Molo is just located in front of the Iloilo City National High School. The Horizon Cafe on top of Injap Tower Hotel offers a breathtaking view and sumptuous dishes for dinner.
